For some time, my very favourite animal in the world has been the New Zealand Kakapo. Mark Carwardine and Stephen Fry have been to see how this endangered species is faring and got this ridiculously wonderful footage:

Quite a lot of overweight, earthbound parrots around at present. Just watch the news at conference time.
